Opening in October: Koho in Altdorf gets started
Concerts, art and cooking events: what is to take place here sounds varied. Das Koho opens in Altdorf in the fall. The team promises a creative ambience in a sustainably renovated old town house.

Many people have already noticed that something new is happening in Kiliansgasse in Altdorf. Sustainably designed and full of possibilities, it is intended to be a future hub for culture, living and working under one roof, and it will have many faces, if the creators have their way. This includes a party venue, a pop-up cultural space that combines elements of a music club, art space and social platform. The programme of events will be correspondingly diverse: concerts, kitchen events, art projects. The programme for the first season can now be viewed on the Koho website.
Ron Minis plays his first Koho concert
The first concert on Thursday, 2 October, will be the soft opening of Koho. Blue-bearded pianist Ron Minis has been invited to perform. With roots in the jazz-punk scene and after appearances at Montreux, he will present his completely new programme solo in an intimate setting of sound and light at Koho. Piano with a universe of electronic effects explores the interface between classical and experimental soundscapes. Advance sales have begun. Tickets are available at the Altdorf and Feucht ticket shops and on the Koho website. Social tickets are also always available.
The list of other concerts in the first season reads like a meander between the genres of psychedelic, hip hop and Afro pop: Joy Bogat, Pyramid, K.ZIA, Die Japanische Clubjacke and Malia will also perform at two festivals in Koho.
Opening in three steps
The opening of Koho is planned in three stages. Following the soft opening with the concert of the Altdorf KulTour weekend on Saturday, 11 October, and Sunday, 12 October, the Leibniz Gymnasium will be showcased for the first time. Using drawing, painting, objects and model building, students will present their vision of the present and the future. The Koho will conclude with an open house for anyone interested in learning more about the venue, the programme and the opportunities for celebrations and workshops.
The Koho concept involves a collective and collaborative approach to bringing the venue to life. Over the past few months, contact has been sought with artist collectives in the region, and several Nuremberg artists and collectives have already been invited to perform at the Koho as part of the programme.
Kitchen events planned at Koho
The spirit of partnership is also evident in the Kitchen Events. Koho wants to collaborate with creative and open-minded chefs around new sharing plates and working kitchens, offering pop-up mode at Koho. Among the first Kitchen partners are Phillip Kreuzeder, who made Hegnenberg a culinary attraction, as well as Khalil Weshah and Rima Akel, who will present a gastronomic project. Although the two kitchen partners are very different, they both reflect Koho’s idea of diversity and creativity. In addition to a programmatic venue in Altdorf, it can be rented for birthdays, company events and other celebrations.
